What is Festive Board?
Festive Board is a totally free to use resource for all officially recognised masonic lodges. Not only does it aid the organisation of festive boards and meetings with in the lodge; it can also be used for outside the lodge social events too.The sole aim for creating Festive Board is to reduce the stress and complexities for the dining steward or the brother who is tasked with organising it. Also the catering staff by being able to record who will be attending or not, and in what capacity, along with what their meal choices will be.
How does it work?
Initially we ask you to register your lodge using our Register Your Lodge page. We ask you for your lodge details including the lodge name, number, address, login contact email and the dining steward's contact details.Once approved you will be able to login in to our administration area, from there you can configure many details. Such as the link to give your guests so they can book in to your meetings and events. Also, you can create meeting and events also add brethren in to you permanent dining list. Each section has handy notes / instructions to follow. It has been written so it is very intuitive, making sure even those brethren that are not technically minded will have no issues with using our system. Why was Festive Board written and by whom?
This is the perfect opportunity to introduce myself… I am brother Ian Stuart, a Master Mason from the 8330 Samuel Pepys lodge in England. I have been a proud mason since October 2024.I am being tasked with the role of dining steward for our lodge, which currently uses a paper-based system. After seeing the issues that arose with doing it that way, I thought I would use my skills a web developer & SAAS developer, which is my day job, to bring the lodge up to date with some technology. While I was developing Festive Board for us to use, I thought I should extended the website so that other lodges is in a similar position as ours can also benefit from it too.
I am offering it totally free to all officially recognised masonic lodges as my gift to freemasonry.
